FAQ - General Questions

And I have to get up at WHAT time?????

A:  Most flights begin preparation just before dawn, to launch as the sun rises.  Imagine the beauty of the best part of the day!!!

Yes, it really is that dark!

Q:  What should I wear?

A:  Layering clothing appropriate to the season works well. A sweater or sweatshirt can be very useful.
Winter requires heavy socks and warm boots.  Other seasons may be subject to dampness, so please, no heels or sandals.  Sturdy athletic shoes work best.

Q:  What do I need to bring along?

A:  Travel lightly to allow more room in the basket.  Your camera on a sturdy strap, your water bottle and a keen sense of adventure... and you are on your way!!

Q:  Do you only fly during the summer?
A:  Balloon Flights are wonderful in all seasons.  During winter, dress warmly in layers, and you may see wildlife moving through the forests.  During spring months, views are unobstructed by leaves, and a different beauty is visible.  During summer months, the vistas are wonderful as you float above the hills and valleys, and the cool breezes are welcome.  Fall foliage is a magnificent sight native New Englanders have enjoyed annually.

Q:  Where does the balloon land?
A:
We generally fly within a ten mile area, and land wherever the winds direct us on that particular day!
Q:  How do you predict the weather?
A:  Dr.
Thomas will make a preliminary weather check at 8 PM, and will call to advise the probability of flight.  Additional weather checks will be done at 3 AM & again before launch

A:   We fly according to the winds, and their direction, so you are able to see the local beauty, and even speak with people on the ground.

Q:  Can I pick the day I wish to fly?

A:  We will try to accommodate your request, but the decision to fly is solely and finally that of the pilot.  If weather does not cooperate, your flight will be re-scheduled to a time agreeable to both parties.

Q:  What is the quickest way to contact you or to book a flight?
A:   Please call us at 413-245-7013 for questions, schedules, and available dates for your own adventure!
